Happy New Year!

Challenge : to call or summon,  to engage in

Challenge and Change were two words that described my journey last year. I learned a lot about
myself and experienced growth in some areas of my life.

So,  as I enter 2016 the word Challenge will remain with me through this year. In order for me to continue to grow and learn more about myself, I have to challenge myself in all my endeavors as well as embrace any challenges that life brings to me.

When I face challenges it can bring out the best in me or the worst. This is when I get to see the real me. I see my responses, my reactions and the strength of my faith. God uses challenges to expose what's truly inside of your mind, your heart and to test your faith.

Sometimes it hard for me to see the real me, but I thank God that when he exposes it, I am able to see it and work on fixing it so I can continue to grow and transform into a better person.

These are some of the major areas that I will challenge myself:

  • Eating Healthy - Continue to eat healthy and go a step further by slowly transiting to a vegan diet. This will not be too much of a challenge, my diet is mostly vegetarian.
  • Working out - Set a schedule for getting my workout in. 3 days at the gym and 3 days home. This is going to be a tough challenge. I am lacking discipline in this area

  • Blogging - Keeping up with writing and posting to my blog. I created a schedule for posting, researching content and topics now I just have to stick with it.
  • Spiritual Exercise - Continue to spend my quiet time reading, praying and meditating. My challenge is to include a quiet time in the morning also to prepare my mind and soul to start the day.

Through much prayer, inspiration from others, staying focus and  making a schedule I know I am ready for the Challenge.

  1. Your goals are very inspiring, Lucy. Let's stay in touch to keep each other committed to our plans for 2016.

    1. Hi Corinne, Happy New Year and thank you for stopping by. I would love to stay so we work to keep each other on track. I am heading to your blog right now.

  2. I have one goal for 2016: Not buy any toys or books. We have too many toys and can get any book we want from the library. Instead we will spend our fun money on experiences.

    1. That's a great idea, thanks for stopping by.

  3. Good luck. I hope it's working out for you this far.
