Spiritual Exercise for the Heart and Soul

It's the holiday season and I hope everyone is enjoying their time off from work and having fun with family and friends. It feels so good to be off from work for 4 days. I get to rest my mind, body and soul, put the daily routines to the side and focus on doing what I want to do.

This morning I woke up and just felt the need to spent time reading and meditating on the word.  I reserve my quiet time for the evenings during the week and on the weekend since I don' t have to get up early my quiet time is more flexible.

I use this time to read, reflect, meditate and release the cares of the day.  When I put my head down on my pillow at night, my mind is clear and at peace, my body is relaxed  and my spirit is renewed so I can get a good night sleep.

Today's meditation was on Spiritual Exercise. When I think of exercise, I think of physical movement that strengthen, tone and build up my body so I  can be in the best of health and live a full life.

But just like my body needs physical exercise so does my heart and soul.   As I  go through life's trials and struggles my heart and soul is getting a spiritual workout. As I remain focus, faithful & strong in my walk with God through these times, this spiritual exercise will no doubt build perseverance, character, hope and strengthen my faith even more.
